General Terms and Conditions of Sale
Your purchase is subject to the usual general terms and conditions of sale outlined below, including, where applicable, all conditions and notes appearing on your quote and purchase order. Please read them carefully.
Quote
All quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue. After this period, Planchers Central reserves the right to modify the quote based on market conditions.
Installation
The installation of hardwood, laminate, ceramic, and vinyl flooring requires subfloor preparation. Costs related to this preparation may not be included in the estimate, as they can only be determined after an on-site inspection. Additional labor and material costs may be required after removal. Please plan to be home all day on the scheduled installation date, as no exact time can be guaranteed. Every effort will be made to carry out the installation professionally and on time; however, Planchers Central cannot be held responsible for incidental or consequential damage or any other expenses (e.g., lost wages, hotel costs, meals, inconvenience, etc.) resulting from unforeseen delays related to materials or installation.
Merchandise to be picked up will be in boxes and will require assembly. Ensure your vehicle can accommodate the dimensions of the products. Planchers Central is not responsible for loading, securing, or the safe transport of merchandise. Damage during loading or transport is not covered by the warranty, and no returns will be accepted.
A deposit of 40% of the quote amount is required to order materials.
Soundproofing from the subfloor cannot be guaranteed.
The client must maintain heating/air conditioning between 15°C and 27°C, and humidity levels between 35% and 50%. In case of a claim, the client must provide documented proof to the manufacturer that these conditions were met. Failure to comply voids the flooring warranty.
No warranty applies to flooring installed over heated floors, except for tiles installed with Schluter Ditra Heat, which are covered by Schluter Systems’ manufacturer warranty.
Painting and caulking baseboards, frames, moldings, etc. are the homeowner’s responsibility after installation.
The client must clear the work area before the installer arrives. The installer will only move dishwashers, toilets, and vanity units if a plumber (hired by the client) has disconnected the plumbing before the scheduled date. Additional charges apply if such tasks are not explicitly included in the quote.
Allow for a one-day buffer in the installation schedule.
In case of unforeseen circumstances, Planchers Central will inform the client of additional costs. The client may accept or decline, and the contract may be canceled if Planchers Central cannot proceed.
Quotes for removal are based on assumptions about what lies beneath the existing flooring; any additional work is at the client’s expense.
If installers must move furniture included in the contract, they will not move clothing, dishes, valuables, pianos, pool tables, electronics, or small items, and will not do any assembly/disassembly.
Only emptied furniture will be moved. The client must be present at the end of installation for inspection.
The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion of the installation. The client authorizes full credit card payment unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
The client agrees that the balance will be automatically charged to the same payment method used for the deposit as work progresses. This authorization is irrevocable.
In case of non-payment, Planchers Central may assert its rights, including placing a lien on the client’s property.
The client will pay 15% annual interest on overdue payments, and a 10% penalty for any payment that is not made or is declined.
Schedule and Delays
The parties will agree on start and end dates for the work. Planchers Central is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond its control (strikes, weather, supply issues, acts of God, etc.).
Installation Warranty
Installation is warranted against workmanship defects for 1 year from the installation date.
This warranty does not cover the following:

Carpet: normal visible seams,

Tile: cracking of tiles or joints due to subfloor movement or foundation settling,

Hardwood: gaps between boards or humidity-related issues,
-
Laminate: humidity-related issues,
-
Vinyl: normal visible seams.
Material warranties are provided by the manufacturer or distributor, with Planchers Central acting as an intermediary if needed.
Colors
Shades may vary between batches. The buyer accepts such variations within industry tolerances.
Shading, watermarks, fiber loss, or velvet crushing are not considered defects.
Natural materials (wood, cork, bamboo) may show differences between sapwood and heartwood, veins, and grain variations.
Temperature and humidity must follow manufacturer recommendations to avoid excessive expansion or contraction.
Colors displayed on the website may differ slightly due to screen settings.
Returns
No returns on opened boxes.
Special orders or custom products, including carpet and sheet vinyl, are non-refundable.
Only stock items in unopened original packaging may be returned within 30 days of purchase.
A 25% restocking fee and shipping costs are the client’s responsibility.
Client Responsibilities
The client must verify:

Material compliance (wear layer, subfloor, baseboards, color/type of joint, etc.),

Direction of installation (straight, diagonal, pattern),
-
Site conditions (material acclimation, temperature and humidity),
-
Permits and legal compliance,
-
Presence of a responsible adult onsite all day, access to electricity, water (for tile and vinyl), and restrooms,
-
Clear path to installation area,
-
Piano tuning and leveling of pool tables if moved,
-
Removal of carpet staples (tack strip may be reused or replaced),
-
Ventilation of the area for 48 hours post-installation,
-
Proper use of materials (no resale, personal use only),
-
Consideration of approximately 10% extra for cuts, joints, and finishing.
Cancellation
If canceled more than 3 days after signing but before work begins, the client must pay 33% of the total price, transportation/restocking fees, and any applicable taxes or third-party fees.
No cancellations are allowed after work begins.
Limitation of Liability
Planchers Central will never be liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages (loss of use, profits, data, etc.).
Any legal or warranty claim must be made within 18 months of the work being completed.
Planchers Central is not responsible for:

Dust,
-
Soundproofing,
-
Misaligned doors,
-
Wall/baseboard damage,
-
Visible seams,
-
Non-compliant subfloors,
-
Pre-existing structural issues,
-
Delays,
-
Misuse of products,
-
Hazardous substances (mold, asbestos, etc.),
-
Maintenance,
-
Third-party actions, or
-
Natural forces/acts of God.
Their liability is limited to the actual amount paid for the work.
Company officers and employees cannot be held personally liable.
Indemnification
The client agrees to indemnify Planchers Central and its representatives for any claims or damages resulting from their own actions or omissions, including failure to comply with the contract.
Negative Reviews
The client agrees not to publish defamatory, false, abusive, or harmful reviews about Planchers Central, the contract, or the work performed.
Entire Agreement
This contract, including these terms and any included documents, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties, replacing any prior verbal or written discussions or agreements.
Amendments
This contract may only be modified, canceled, or amended in writing and signed by both parties.
